Prior to the adoption of the DRAFT Community Plan and Zoning Amendments, these actions must be reviewed under the NY State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR). The purpose of the SEQR review is to determine if an action, in this case adoption of the plan or zoning documents, will have any adverse environmental impacts and if so, are can these impacts be effectively mitigated. The SEQR review is being addressed as a non-coordinated review with the Town of Coxsackie serving as Lead Agency. A Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) was accepted by the Town on 12/31/07 and a 30 day public comment period initiated. In February, the Town elected to undertake a Supplement to the DGEIS. The Supplemental Draft Generic Environmental impact Statement (SDGEIS) was designed to provide for additional review of  the comprehensive plan and proposed zoning. The SDGEIS was accepted by the Town on 4-8-08 and a public hearing scheduled. The DGEIS  and SDGEIS as well as their appendices can be downloaded using the links below.

 

Om May 28, 2008 (Town) and May 29, 2008 (Village) the Town and Village accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement (FGEIS) which is provided via the links below.

 

Hard copies of the Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement can be viewed at the Town and Village Halls and Heermance Memorial Library.
